questions about RTN/STN

My undata seems to have either RTN/STN or seems like something was picking on it. so here are a few questions

What causes RTN?
Is it possible for a sps coral to get RTN after it has been in the tank for a while?
does RTN spread from one sps to another?
what are the best ways to prevent RTN or treat RTN?

I wish I had an answer for you. All I know is there are people who keep their tanks as stable as possible and things still happen. Check this link out, sad but it happens. Good luck!
