Questions - Comline 3110

Hello.

I am looking at purchasing a Tunze Comline 3110 for my 20g H. My questions are:

I have read that tunze skimmers work best when the water level of the aquarium are kept constant by means of a topoff system. Does this apply to the 3110?

Does the 3110 produce many bubbles in the tank?

Thanks in advance,

Mike

The 3110/2 may produce some fine bubbles when new but after the 2 week break in this should stop completely. The 3110/2 tends to be relatively tolerant of fluctuations but realistically in a small tank a 1/2" of fluctuation should be the absolute limit for many reasons- the least of which would be skimmer performance. Within this range I think you will see a very good performance.

Please- read the instructions. I had a thread earlier about noise- they should have the faint noise of an espresso machine when properly installed- just a barely audible whistling/churning noise. It is important to start with the venturi closed and open it after installation to be sure that no water is in the airline otherwise it sounds like a percolating coffee maker until all the water is out. Being positioned to deep will do this too.

Roger...

Forgot to ask you if i could put this into a cpr hang on refugium which is about 4 1/2 inched deep (front to back)
