Questions on anglerfish

I want to get a wartskin or Sargassum anglerfish. Reading up on them it looks like a min tank size is 30, so I assume my 29 will be fine right? And another assumption is that tankmates are things that will not fit in its mouth, am i correct?

Keep in mind that its mouth is larger than you think it is.

For the wartskin a 29 gallon tank is fine. As for tank mates, I don't know that I would put in any. Any fish 3 inches or smaller is at risk for becoming a meal. Also, keep in mind that anglers aren't aggressive, they're just vacuums. Fish that do a lot of picking at rocks or are on the nippy side (like small puffers) may harrass the angler causing stress and possibly wounds, which can lead to infection.

I think a softie/LPS reef with an angler makes a great display.
