I am an inexperienced breeder. That is to say that I have raised many species of coral and kept about 2/3 of the species of clowns but have never had spawning clowns as far as I am aware. So, I think I know what I'm doing in general just not so much in this particular modality.
I've had my "pair" together for around a year now and they seem to be getting along quite well. They have been doing some lazy cleaning lately but I'm not sure if this is just normal housekeeping or the beginning of pre-spawning behavior.
They have been residing for about three months in a 24x24x19 tank with 6" soapstone tiles layed in a triangle. This is where they hang out. I'm currently keeping my temp at around 82F with a photoperiod of ~14 hrs. Given my work schedule, this is the only way I can get in 3 feedings per day without an automatic feeder.
I feed a variety of foods:
OSI Flake
Formula I and II flake
Spectra Pellet
Table shrimp
Mysis
Cyclopeeze
Table fish
Nori
So, other than patience, is there anything else that you might look into?
I'm sure the photo question will arise. So, here you go. Both tanks are hooked in tandem to a 100 gallon rubbermaid trough. These pics were taken shortly after addition. So, they were checking things out and not swimming together so much at the time but they are side by side most of the time now.
As far as the leucs are concerned, they are skittish when I am around as is typical of the species and the female is quite aggressive.
I should also mention that the tiles are layed a little different than what is pictured. There are three tiles that make up three sides of the triangle. The leather and anemone are in the leuc tank now and there is no other LR or BR in their tank.
