Questions on SPS Touching

I have a few SPS in my tank that are very close to touching. I was curious what people do when this happens? One will be stronger than the other I'm assuming, so do you just wait it out and see who wins? Do they even out and only over take so much of the coral?

Agreed, frag the branch before they touch. They will battle. One will win and in my experience will just start encrusting over the loser, similar to when a branch grows into the back wall or a piece of rock. Sometimes the loser will start growing a shield (for lack of a better word) of encrustment trying to wall off the aggressor. It is kind of cool really, but a lot of times algae will grow on the back side of the "shield"

wow! glad you asked this question. i have the same problem with mine. i wish i can move it but i glued it down to the rock
