Hi everyone,
I'm thinking about switching my VHOs to T5s, maybe someone can help me. I'm running 2x400w 13k aquamedic mhs with 4x48" VHO icecap 660 for my attinics in a 120gal. I want to know if they are as good as the manufacutures say they are, and will there be any difference with what I'm currently using? If so what are the differences. Also if you are using them, how is your coralline algae growing with these lights. Thank you for any and all input on this topic.

I think T5's make great replacements for Halides...however, VHO's (to me) are a better actinic.

i absolutely love my t'5's. I have 8x54watt t'5's on my 220 with all kinds of zoas, shrooms, clams, polpys, etc. My coraline is growing like crazy. I wouldnt have it any other way. just my opinion.

I've got a 6x54watt on my 65 gal and I love them. I previously ran a 250mh 15k on my 29gal w/ 130pc 50/50 and the color is so much nicer with the t5s. I can't comment on the actinic though, never had vho.

I cant wait to sell my MH's to switch over to all T5s, eventually I will have 8x54 watters!!

Any body wanna buy a 72" fixture with 3x150 hqi's??? Worth a shoot :)

scottywags why didnt you like the T-5s??

Nice Dolphin dooooooood!!!!

Thanks guys, sounds like I will be going with the T5's. Would any one have some for sale? Oh one more question, is there a big difference in your electricity consumption?

you still looking for a t5 setup? on the fence on selling mine, have to talk the wife into it. she wants to set the old tank up (55 gal) with either a puffer or lionfish. it was 4 54W bulbs in slr reflectors, powered by 2 icecap 660ballasts.
