last night took all my Zoo's out of the tank, that I could get out and dipped them. Trying to get rid of the nudibranches I did not see any while doing the dip. I do have all my Zoo's in QT, but after looking a little closer even my LPS, (Candy Cain's, torch and hammer) seem to not be doing that well.

My Clam's, Anemone's, fish, Yuma's, Ric's, and Shrooms seem to be doing well. So I'm wondering if I'm missing something..

What all do you test for?

What would be causing my LPS to look like crap?

I know my skimmer has sucked since I have made it a Recirc, because I think I need a bigger pump to push more water through it besides the Maxi Jet.

PH has been sitting around 8.1, but last night the PH was at 8.3 for some reason.

Coralline is taking over everything in the Sump/Tank.

Just looking for some help, have not see the tank look this bad. :(

Do you have accurate water parameters? The usual suspects, ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, phosphate, alk, calcium, temp, salinity.

Is the flow in your tank adequate, ie, no clogged pumps, returns pushing good water flow, etc.

Have you been doing regular water changes? RODI water quality good?

Are you using up-to-date, reliable test kits?

Have you made any changes besides the skimmer? Even awhile ago as it could just be slowing affecting it.

Are you feeding DT's?

I do need to replace my RO/DI Filters.

I'm going to test for everything again this weekend, its been about a month or longer, and didn't have time last night.

Salinity is down a little 1.023 Usually keep it at 1.025
Temp has been 78-79°

At first I was thinking the Normal Nitrite, nitrate, ammonia couldn't be off because nothing has died (fish wise) but I didn't think that the zoo's dying off by the nudity could screw with those results, and could be my problem.

Flow is pretty good. 3600 GPH through the Sump, plus a Mod Maxi Jet, with a 1500 SEIO

Need to look and see which Test kits are old and which ones are new.

No, and NO

Expired nudis

Expired nudis

Have any nudis died in the tank? Could they be releaseing a toxin? Maybe add some carbon?

Never thought about that? Does anyone know about this? I have lost a lot of Zoo's, so there is not much food left

I have problems when my Ro/DI TDS gets over 1. My zoos close up, sps lose color and all that crummy stuff.

Lonnie looks like you need to do some good water changes with good source water. Have you been lazy?????:D

bad water will definetly do that to a tank. When I first set up my current tank I bought what I believed be clean ro/di water from a lfs. Turns out the stuff had a higher tds reading then my tap water... Lost lots of zoos and still have a algae problem...

Crack the wip on this guy!! He's been lazy and now suffering for it. Do what you know you should have already done son and........Ahhh Don't know where I was going with all that

Fazgood brought up a good question though: Could they be releaseing a toxin??

nudibranches that are toxic are like sea cukes and sea apple when they die can nuke an entire system. I'll find the link and post it if i can find it.

Well just ordered a RO/DI unit this morning so hopefully I can start making some good water this weekend!!

well unless one of us help lonnie with a water change i just will not believe it

just need some really cool weather for week so he can park his bike than he would get it done for sure.

WOA!! Did U say U ordered a new RO/DI unit!?!?!?!?!? REALLY!!!! Do ya think it was time???

Lesson for other reefer's to learn from as follows ( I love getting to pick on U when it comes to this hobby :lol2:) : 1) Change all filters after 1 year of useage or sooner not just the DI resin. 2) Or just replace the whole thing around 1 year later not 2 to 2 1/2 years later. Ha Ha :lol2:

p.s. Lonnie/Loonie I really enjoy that :D
