Why not get freeze dried krill or go to your local super market and buy some uncooked shrimp? Then, take off the hard shell of the shrimp and maybe rip each shrimp into fourths. Feed one fourth to the nem, and then store the rest of the shrimp in the freezer.
 
I was feeding it to my clown fish and notice my anemone eating it and jsut want to make sure it was ok

Anemones can be very selective, so if it likes it, why not?

Often food is soaked in selcon for an anemone, but I haven't heard of using garlic. However, I don't see any harm in it either.

You'd run more risk trying to take food from the anemone. Sometimes it attaches to my finger and I need to very gently pull away.
 
Is it possible to dye the food a certain color so that the nem turns that color? Is it bad for nems if you dye there food?

That would be a very bad idea. First, not sure if it would work, second if it did, that would interfere with its zoax's ability to photosynthesize. There will be dyed Sebaes available once in awhile ( either yellow or pink ) and darn near all of them end up dead.
 
Have to agree with Todd Titus... REALLY bad idea. Not to mention that I'm almost positive it wouldn't work... So wrong on so many levels...
 
Oh I know you wouldn't do it to hurt something! :lol: It was a good thought - just think of all the cool colors you could have! But yeah... probably a bad idea...
 
If I ever have a live baby Flamingo, I am going to dye it's food (shrimp) either blue or geen. Then I would have a Blue/Green Flamingo!


(You do know, of course, that Flamingos are pink in color because of the food that they eat, which is pinkish shrimp.)

But those shrimp they eat aren't dyed, the pinkish color is their natural color, wish wouldn't be the same as dying the shrimp.
 
What is with all the color wants. Just enjoy the way they are made. There is lots of great color corals out there that you can get it you want some color in your tank.
