Quick Cure

Quick Cure, it says to treat for 3 days, now why does this product
seem to good to be true? It is Formalin and malachite green.

I am treating a few fish in a QT with ich. They have been in
Hypo for 6 weeks and it seems the ich is persisting.

I did a water change and started treatment with Quick Cure,
to see if it can help knock out the ich. Yes, all carbon filters are
removed.

I have also added an air pump making fine bubbles to help with
the needed 02 of the fish.

What are you keeping your salinity at in the QT?

..and what are you using to measure it? It is critical that the level not stray above the therapeutic range.

1.009, and i am using a Vital Sine Refractometer. Yes it is accurate,
I even checked it at a budy's house vs his refractometer.

1 Kole Tang, 2 juvenial aged Hippo's ( each about 1 inch long ),
and a young coral beauty in the QT.

Though nevermind the Quick Cure seems to be taking care of the problem.

I wasn't questioning my QT. I was asking about "Quick Cure" has
anyone ever used it with success before?

I use to use it with FW fish alot and it worked very well, but have never heard about using it in SW. Good luck.....would be a cheap cure though.

The one person I know who recommends quick cure uses it in a concentrated bath type application .. not the diluted application recommended by the mfg.

If I had the fish in QT and hypo wasn't working I would recommend switching to copper. However ... not sure you can do that now because as I recall formalin doesn't react well with some coppers. If you want to go that route do a bit of research as my brain can't bring up the link.
