Quick Lighting Question

Hello all,

Can you tell me which combination of T5 bulbs that will bring out the ORANGE and YELLOW color from a merten anemone?

Thank you,

I can't offer any advice as to T5s, but I'll say this -- the orange on my mertensi popped big time when I moved it to a tank with 20K Radiums, so I'd hazard a guess that a healthy dose of blue will help bring out the orange.

One of the great things about LED (some models) is that you can adjust the colors to bring out what you want vs. T5 buying bulbs and hoping to get the color combo you like.

Thanks addictedreefer.
Yes, the 20k radium is my all time favorite but it was too hot.
I might have to go back to it someday though.

Thanks Indymann99.
LED is my next project, but not now.
My saving money is not enough yet.

I use an actinic purple bulb to bring out the oranges / reds, these do speed up algae growth a little though

Cyan, Blue and violet can all promote orange fluorescence. Which depends on the specific chomatoproteins in your nem.

I think you should order one each of the available LED diodes mounted to 20mm star boards in the aforementioned range along with a small dimmable driver suitable for driving individual LEDs, a couple BJB solderless connectors and a heatsink. Cost will be low and you can test each color to see which gives you the effect you prefer. Call it research for your LED project.
