Quick Overflow connection question

I have a 120 gallon dual over flow tank. Now I have Bulkhead threaded flanges pic below:

What would be the best way to connect the PVC plumbing from the underside of tank coming out of the threaded piece? Is there an adapter that screws over it then another piece of PVC gets glued to that? Or do i slide a PVC piece inside that threaded piece?

I'm sorry this is what the piece looks like going threw the drilled hole at bottom of tank. It is threaded into a barb. What is the best way to connect PVC to the for the drain and return? I DO NOT! want tubing.

Also if you look at my durso pipes do they look the correct sizes. What is the standard?

If I understand your posts correctly you do not really have the bulkheads pictured in your first post. So...the bulkheads pictured in the second post do not appear to be set up for PVC connections, they are for tubing. If you want to run PVC you will need new bulkheads, which are a good investment anyways, that look like the pictures in your first post that are made for either a threaded connection or a glued connection. I prefer threaded connections, but there are some who like a glued bulkhead connection.

The only way to use those without using all flex is get a small piece of flex tubing and connect it from your bulkhead barbed fitting to another barbed to slip or barbed to thread fitting. No way to use as-is without at least a small piece of flexible tubing.

Also - I think you were asking if you can use the threaded bottom of the bulkhead fitting that is used to attach the plastic nut to the tank for another fitting. Absolutely NOT. This is only used to secure the bulkhead to the tank.

So is there threading on the inside the bulkhead to screw PVC adapter of some sort into it?

For non-barbed fitting bulkheads, there is slip, which is smooth and requires PVC glue to seal, and there is threaded, which requires thread sealant. In both cases the PVC attachment is on the inside of the bulkhead. Also you do not need anything connected for the drain inside the overflow. Just get that end as slip (I suggest both as slip because threaded is VERY hard to get no leaks) and set the durso pipe in with friction only. The return, since it is under a little pressure, should have a more substantial connection.

I understand slip has less of a chance of leaking but what if i wanted to take apart the PVC at the bulkhead for maintenance if it is glued that is impossible. What do you guys do just put a union lower to be able to disconnect the PVC?
