Quick QT Q.

I'm fine with the majority of QT stuff.

I'll ask my question first and then tell why so you can skip the boring if you want!

How much cycled bio media is needed to control the ammonia load of one fish (a small naso tang in this case). I've got about 3 pounds of cycled LR from my sump I put in there and filled the HOB filter with cycled floss from my sump as well (HOB is for a 60 gallon, this QT is a 40b)

My typical QT is a 20 gallon with a canister filled with cycled ceramic. It works great. It's working great now with a few fish I put in there a few weeks ago. 1. I do not want to restart the clock on that qt and 2. If I'm going to have a fish like a tang in qt, I want it to be as comfortable as possible, so no bueno here on putting it in a 20 gallon. 3. Tangs being the most susceptible to ich, I do not want to risk the current qt that is doing very well.

I've never qt'd without my trusty canister, are the few cycled rocks and filter media enough for one fish?

P.S. Yes, I know about the Non-Cycle method of qt. I believe it has its merits, I am not willing to do that much changing of water every single day. I travel and it isn't feasable.
