Quick quarantine question?

1. Can we quarantine fish with invertebrates?
2. Do we need sand in the QT tank for the invertebrates?

This will be in a 10g brand new tank but the filter has been from another tank with just cured LR.

Quick answer- yes you can QT them together, you just can't treat the fish if they show any signs of disease. You would have to take the inverts out. You do not need sand for the inverts.

Alright, I'll be picking up some today. My regular tank just finished cycling after two weeks. I actually think it was only a few days because my ammonia dropped very fast but my cheap test kit showed .25 nitrate for two weeks. I brought the test water to my lfs yesterday and it read 0 nitrates.

cycles are never "complete".

By this I mean that when ever you change the environment in your tank, by adding new fish, removing fish, whatnot, the balance in the tank is upset and bacteria will be thrown into either a growth boom, or a die off. Both can cause problems.
