The EXtended upgrade gives you these additional features
Salinity Control
Redox Control
Additional L5L6 - 1-10V interfaces
Level 3 port - Ideal for water leakage detection

Having the salinity port and the extra level alone is worth it. The salinity probe is actually really accurate. This is really helpful if you're using 2-part dosing.

I agree with the comment about dosing, it is important to monitor your salinity when 2 or 3 part dosing. You need to keep track for any ionic inbalance build up.

Sure it can, and it's ALOT cheaper than upgrading from the P3 than the P3EX. Good luck.
