Quick response needed- Epoxy Reef safe?

I had a fish go through one of my overflows. (No netting over the overflow) So, I used some Harvey's expoxy Plumbers putty to secure the netting on the overflow. Is it reef safe? It caused my skimmer to go nuts. It's no different than other epoxy I've used in the past with no issues. Is this just temporary or do I need to pull it asap?

looks like it's safe, just causes issues with skimmers for a bit. Whew. dumb fish going through overflows! (at least he arrived safely in my sump! )

Well, 9 hours later, plugged the skimmer back in, and it's still going nuts. Unplugged it. Leaving it off for now. How long does it take for the putty to not cause the skimmer to go nuts?

put in new GAC and drop the skimmer height a little. Run it drier then start slowly opening it up.

Yup, I wouldn't turn it off. Let it go nuts, and pull off what it pulls off.
