i am almost complete in making my set up in our laundry room for my salt mixing....right now i got a regular brute in there and i take my salt water out one gallon at a time to bring it into our bedroom where the aquarium is....im looking for say a 5 gallon jug that ya guys might have...let me know if ya guys have one and also,i would like to add a spout onto the bottom of the brute can and i got that i can easily use pvc pipe and a gate valve for it but wondering if ya guys have a bulkhead laying around.....would i need to use some sort of sealant to hold the bulkhead in place and tight or what?....ive never used a bulkhead on anything much less a brute can holding 30 or so gallons of salt water lol advice and the parts im looking for are greatly appreciated...btw will be in clarksville tomorrow to pick up a new 29g tank....thanks

As far as using a bulk head shouldnt need anything but the bulkhead just tighten snug and it should be fine but others will chime In Im sure :)

Personally I would use a uniseal for the brute....but if you end up going with a reg. bulkhead I would use some silicone just to be in the safe side.

yea i thought of using a good size pump to mix the salt in there and also use it to pump it out when needed as ya said jay....just not so sure which way i wanna do this,im thinking a bulkhead fitting to pvc and a spout might be a faster way of getting the water out though

thats how i have mine setup. it is continuosly mixing and i have 2 ball valves to divert to a hose for bucket filling, or now, can fill directly into my sump for water changes.

I use a fountain pump... it's not made for saltwater but I run it for 3 minutes a week then take it out and rinse it off. officially I'd recommend a pump made for saltwater, get some tubing and a 5 gallon bucket. or if you can get a more powerful pump and a long length of tubing and run it straight to the tank. depends on how much room you have

I agree with Mike. You will need to use a Uniseal on a Brute. A standard bulkhead will just leak trying to tighten it around the curve of the Brute.

The Critter has those jugs you're looking for, although just using a long hose and a good pump would work, too.

i will get a uniseal for it which i have to google it cause im not sure what they are.....id love to run a hose to it but honesty its a tad far so running a hose to and from my tank for just 5 or so gallons would actually end up being too much work but i will use a uniseal and get me a jug like that....i do appreciate the advice guys thank you
