Quickest host of clown and anemone. What's your experience ?

Thanks, he is a beautiful creature, massive when opened right up, I refuse to get rid of it because of it's thirst for fresh blood. Just have to work around it.

My wild caught /tank bred pair were trying to host my H. Mag while it was floating in bag during acclimation. Lol

It's really all a crapshoot on how long it'll take. Over the last 12 yrs. I've had countless clownfish & nems; sometimes it's taken minutes, other times weeks, months or never...

Mine would refuse to host anything except for the powerhead for like 3 month. I tried all kinds of methods, and then I added more fish and I think they were afraid and decided to seek shelter and host an anemone.

With natural hosts, it's been almost immediately, minutes at the most. With a non-natural combination, I've had a clown never go to the anemone.

My ocellaris clownfish tried to get into a Mag while I was still placing it in the tank. The same took about 15 minutes to go into my gig.

Ocellaris and BTA- over 9 months to host
Oscellaris and LTA- 1-2 months
Tomato and BTA or LTA- a couple days
Tank raised Ocellaris and Gigantea- almost before I let go of it when placing it in the tank.

Well after losing both my OC Clowns to carpet surfing I decided to get a screen top and a Gold Stripe Maroon Clown.
I bought him yesterday and as I'm typing this he just found his RBTA and life long partner :bounce1::bounce2::bounce3::dance:

My new pair of Onyx went into the DT yesterday, but haven't even eyed the 1' sebae or the tiny 1" RBTA. Just generally hanging out near the corner.

Here's hoping!

I have a pair of Ocellaris in a tank with 6 bubbletips for close to 5 years and not once did they even give them a second look. Introduced a Mertensii and they were diving in before my hands were out of the tank. It really is amazing the difference a proper host can make I guess.

My Onyx pair have eyed the sebae maybe twice in the last 48 hours? Swam close to it a couple times but don't seem too interested.

Fingers crossed!
