Quiet return pump recomendation

I'm in the process of upgrading my 90g to a 180g and am working on the plumbing for both a closed loop and my return. For the closed loop I want to use the Reeflo DART (unless it's loud) and need to hear about quiet pumps for the return line.

Thoughts? Ideas? This is my summer project.

How about under $200? Those dragons are expensive...not looking for a Bentley....more like a Honda (not silent but still quiet and reliable)

Thanks

I´ve mentioned these because I have one of 6.5 m3 and I think its worth every cent.
Another good option are the Eheim (1260, 1262). What kind of flow do you need/want ?

I want the return to be about 5x so 900gph under 5 feet of pressure....which the Eheim doesn't do (I looked at that pump). Most of my internal flow will be from my closed loop.

Eheim 1262 is 3.400 lts/h (around 900gph). With the 5 ft ... problably loses 15%. It might be short

Pentair quiet one ?
Ocean runner 6.500 ?

I don´t know the prices in the US, but these would be under $200 in Europe

I have a quiet one 3000 in my 75 gallon - I think it is very quiet. I just upgraded to a 210 and plan on running 2 QO 3000's - they run on only 40 watts each - so they are more efficient than most pumps out there while pushing 1500 GPH (combined).

I'd say you lucked out with your Quiet One. I had one on my 75 and I found it noisy. It also did not restart sometimes after a power interuption. They do have a nice watts to flow ratio, though.

I've heard that the Velocity pumps are really quiet, but they add more heat than most other pumps. This may not be an issue on a 180 sized tank. The T4 model pumps 1275 gph at zero head. They are external.

I'm looking for a pump for my 180, too, and I'm also trying to keep things as quiet as possible, as well as efficient. My plan is to get the circulation I need in-tank from stream type powerheads. I'm just looking to have enough sump flow to feed a skimmer and fuge. I'm hoping this will reduce watts and heat added as well the noise level by reducing the amount of water going through the overflows and spilling into the sump. I'm looking at an Eheim or maybe the Tunze recirculating pump.

I have to plug and unplug my QO3000 several times to get it to start back up again too, but mine is quiet as long as it is sitting firmly in place in the sump.

Quiet one is noisier than an Eheim (I have both) or I'm sure Red Dragon (never tried it). Both are MUCH quieter than the Mag pumps.

I have a Pan World (Iwaki copies roughly) external pump, and it's extremely quiet, reasonably priced and durable. (I had one run dry for quite a while, while out of town and no problems).

sequence snapper. around 2500gph very quiet a 3 years warranty and it is under $200. did I mention it averages 98 watts?
pan world has high power consumption but other wise a very nice pump

Also the reeflow uno series - marlin, wahoo, or tarpon. I have a marlin running my return, protein skimmer (HSA 250), and two phosban ractors. It is pretty quiet and sick flow :-)

The Poseidon series is completely silent, but the tradeoff is they will put a little more heat into your system than other pumps. If you can disperse the extra heat, the PS4 is a no-brainer for a return line.
