So when I built my tank I didn't think about sound as its in the living room. Turns out the sound does bother me. I'm setting up my home theater and my reciever is picking up the tank noise when calibrating. Time to quiet it down a bit.
It's a single Durso (deep blue professional corner overflow) it feeds down to a tee. One direction goes to a sock filter. The other end goes into a algae scrubber then into the sump.
After a lot of messing with the sump end, I have things relatively quiet down there. The top end is the loudest.
I have opened the hole at the top of the Durso. It's still pretty loud. I believe the issue is that the water level in the overflow chamber is an inch below tank level. I think the noise is the water falling the inch. I can't raise the Durso because it will interfere with the glass top. See pics below. Anyone have any ideas?
