Quieting Overflow Suggestions?...

I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on quieting the water overflowing into the sump. I've tried a tupperware container with a hole in the bottom and filter floss to kind of catch the water and ease it in...but its not very effective. The water flowing in is very loud and I would like to hear if anyone else had this problem and how you fixed it...Thanks.

I currently use a siphon overflow, and it is dead silent. Before that, I used to set my drain up as pictured below, and they ran pretty quiet.

That is all PVC pipe. Drill hole in the cap at the top of the "T". Despite the picture I drew, try to keep the horizontal pipe above water line.

Ahh that makes sense...It would work as well for me because the horizontal pipe of my overflow runs flat with the top of the sump. I will just T it off and send it down into the water and drill a hole in the top. Thanks for the advice.

By the way...what is the durso?
