Quinine Sulfate?

Does anyone know the dosage for mg/L or mg/gallon for quinine sulfate?

I was looking into ordering some of the Crypto-Pro, but I most likely will not receive it and be able to start treating for a week. I have an old rx for quinine sulfate 250mg tabs that I was wanting to use, since in theory it should be the same compound (possibly even with less contaminants since it is pharmaceutical grade).

Also, what is the proper procedure for treatment with quinine sulfate?

Suggests a dose of 5-10mg/l but that's for quinine hydrocloride... seems like it might be toxic to coral and inverts?

Thanks for the link to the article. I have quinine sulfate, so I'm not sure about the dosage since its a different compound.

All of my fish are in a 20H hospital tank with just PVC fittings for hiding in, my display is currently sitting fallow to allow the disease to die off naturally.

Just call the dealer you ordered from and ask. Any decent internet company will help you.

The quinine sulfate I have was from a previous prescription for myself, not from an internet dealer.

Negative...that thread is about my use of Quinine Sulfate.

-I used it at 1/8 tsp/10g daily with a 25% water change for 6 days...cured Ich on three butterflies. This was in a ~30g rubbermaid tube...fish transferred to a 40g QT.

-I used 1/4 tsp/10g for 5 days with a 25% water change and did that twice in my 300g DT (no corals or inverts)....no more Ich (butterflies were in this tank).

Leave the lights off and no skimmer.
