i recently just purchased 40 lbs. of uncured manado live rock for my 55 standard to get myself started, my question is how long of a cycle should i expect with this rock? i have heard this rock is pretty fresh/clean to begin with so a minimal cycle is often encountered with this rock even if it is uncured?.....its been in the new tank for two days and i'm still getting a reading of ammonia at 0, nitrite at/arround .25 and nitrate just above 0. any advice on how to jump start the cycle if its even needed? or am i just being the typical inpatient newbie ha :headwally:

You don't have to go through a cycle to have a system ready. The way we handle rock is a little different than about anyone else, so it's very common for customer's to purchase rock from us for a new setup and not see a cycle at all. I would say if you haven't seen any ammonia after 3-4 days, then you're not going to see much of a cycle, if any at all. HTH!

nice, almost been a week with the uncured rock and im already at zero ammonia, and zero nitrite.... i love the stuff so much i already ordered 20 more pounds along with some live sand to seed my substrate with some life. couldnt be happier with premium aquatics!!!

I also just got 25lbs of the uncured Manado, and the stuff is awesome. Nearly every surface is covered in life, and has way more "stuff" on it than the Fiji I got locally.

The only thing I did was I hammered the two largest pieces I got in half for better scaping. Just turned a hammer around with the claw part, and hit the head with a 2nd hammer. Came apart easy with minimal rubble. I was able to create a few caves and it looks awesome in my new 40B setup.
