We have an R/O unit. I have always added dechlorinator to the water. I guess just out of habit from using filtered tap water for so long (not R/O). Do R/O units take out all of the bad stuff? How do I know? How do I know when to change the filters?
TIA

Also what is NSW??

A TDS meter (total dissolve solids) is a good way of measure the performance of your RO membrane. In general most membranes have a 95% rejection rate so you should be able to get similar difference between the tap water and the finish product.
E.G. if the TDS of your tap water is 100 PPM your filtered water out of the ro unit should be only 5ppm.
