Rabbitfish eat Hydraphilia?

Wondering if anyone has heard of rabbitfish having a taste for hydraphillia (sp?). I know he has decided to mow down half my zoo's this week, is it possible he is eating that too? It has lost half its tissue in a week, my alk was low but has been corrected and none of the sps seem bothered. He has definately lost his good citizenship in my tank

If you can pull that coral out too to the frag tank you mentioned you put the zoos in I would do it just to see if it doesn't recover.

Rabbitfish are true grazers and occasionally, and in my experience some species of them more than others start to take a liking to accidental corals they graze on.

The spotted ones I've known to be more culprits than the foxfaces, but then again it also really depends on the individual fish itself, too.

Best of luck figuring out which you like more in your tank ;p It's never an easy choice

I have a masked rabbit fish that I think is the culprit of my SPS ORA Blue Tort frag. I think that little guy nipped the top off. See the pictures below....

Pre Nipping. IT is the frag in the middle.

I even started to question myself and say that this could be new growth, but since I have been documenting growth through pictures I atleast had proof that I am not going crazy.

I am watching, if there is anymore nipping he is going to go to my 100 gallon sump and he can nip at all the macros in the fuge until he is content. He is cool looking though. Here he is

Good luck with yours.
