Racks for my frag tank

Ok, finally got my frag tank I purchased from Mustang an eternity ago in place and will finish plumbing tonight or tomorrow. Then it will be time to start cooking frags. But first I need a rack to mount them on.

Very hesitant about using eggrate in either black or white as I dont want to bother with the huge algae issue. So I have thought of going with the acrylic sheet method and manually drilling holes in them. Which seems rather tedious but a bit of work in the beginning will save ALOT of work in the long run.

The frag tank itself is 72x18x10. I figure I can get a some 1/4 acrylic, cut them into 16x18 squares (easier to manage and pull out several smaller pieces than 1 huge) and drill holes every x inches apart. Sound feasible, or would you just buy a sheet of eggcrate, and swap out a section every few months as it is so cheap?

It can be done but as you said it's quite tedious drilling that many holes. Sabic Polymers is where my company gets their sheets of acrylic. Theyre 4'x8' which means you'll have alot left over and might not save you any money anyway unless you can get someone to go in on it with you.

Well, for around $50 I can get a 1/4 sheet of 3/8 inch in a smoked color which I can then cut into 3 pieces measuring 24"x16", so that isnt to bad I dont think.

Want me to do this for you? I could use some frags and I enjoy this kind of work for some reason :) I may even have a sheet of black acrylic laying around. I think it's about 4'x2'.

Shoot me a price. I'll try to gather you a list of frags I have.

Many thanks to Schplitter on the frag racks. Just got back from work so I haven't had a chance to throw them in yet, but they look great. Many thanks again.

He cut some 1 inch black PVC feet. So they are just sitting on it in the tank.
