dear sps guru

my bn color looks similar to the "green text" color
it is growing, but losing its luminous and green appearance

previously, it was place under 250w MH, app 1.5 feet away
now i place it 6 inch away from 4 x 54w T5

water parameter
kh 8-9, no3 0, ph 8.1-8.3
salinity 1.024-1.025, temp 26.7-27.3
i never measure po4, ca and mg

what can i do to rectify this issue?
should i place it in a lower lighting area?
thanks a million

sounds like its simply just shock from your new lighting. either lift your new lighting up some which is the ideal way to deal with it, or move the coral farther away until everything gets adjusted

Many people, including myself, stressed a few corals when they tried T-5's for the first time

I had the same coral (and a few others, mostly Montis) lose colors when I pushed daily vodka and vinegar dosing too far.
Phosphate was 0.02 on a hanna photometer, its up to 0.05 now.
When I let some nutrients come back (stopped v/v dosing but twice a week), the color (and the inensity) returned.

I have 2 in my tank. One was broken off the bigger colony and is growing in a plug. It is 8-10 inches from the light (MH) and it is greener than the original colony at the bottom of the tank and it has pale green/almost white polyps.

I know it doesn't help but, mine is doing the same thing. It is growing fast but now has white-ish polyps. The change came slowly after 5 months of electric green color. No light change and parametrs are constant. Still a nice coral.

We have two in seperate displays at my work. One recieves a ton of light directly under a Radium 20k 400 watt MH, the other is tucked away mostly shaded by other corals. The one next to the Radium is a pastel green, where as the one that is shaded is the intense green like your first picture. These are seperate systems keep in mind, but water parameters on each are fairly similar so perhaps this coral may be fairly light sensitive. Also the one under the Radium recieves a fair amount more current as well.

on the other hand my monti is doing fine
