Radion Gen 4 Fan Upgrade

I've recently purchased a few gen 4 xr30's and I'm disappointed about the fan not turning off at night. I'm finding it a bit noisy in the house.

My questions are:
1. Is Ecotech planning any software update which will give the user the ability to shut off the fan when lights are not on?
2. Is Ecotech planning on releasing upgraded fans which are quieter?

Given how many times this question has been asked with no answer I doubt you'll get much of a reply. My understanding is that the concern is condensation inside, so they leave the fans on low.
If this isn't an issue for you, and assuming you don't run moonlighting, you could use a timer/controller to cut power to the light during the hours it isn't needed. I happen to use a ReefLink, so I have no idea how well the clock holds without one.

I run a reeflink as well so not sure about putting the lights on a timer.

I don't mind if the fan has to run all the time, I just wish it was quieter. That's why I'm wondering if they are going to release new fans. I've gone to great lengths to quiet my tank down, including using vectra and vortech pumps. Oddly enough, now it's the lights which are the noisiest.

Considering the cost of these machines it's disappointing.

^If you run a Reeflink you should be fine. They'll reconnect when they get power again, and should jump back to their program. Have the timer come on 30 minutes early if you're concerned.

I totally agree about the fan noise btw. I'm told the XR15s are quieter, and actually considered doing 2x as many XR15s to get the noise down, but didn't want a zillion lights over my tank. I see quieter fans as the one feature I'm hoping for the most in the future.
