Radion Metal Hanging Bar

Does anyone else find it frustrating that Ecotech displays their Radions at MACNA by hanging them from a sleek, black, anodized aluminum rod system and yet has no mention of that system on their website or any other forum? I live in and apartment and don't exactly want to go drilling holes in the ceiling. Patching holes in a textured ceiling isn't exactly like patching holes in drywall.

Same goes with that metal bar that connects two or more Radions together.

I'm going to spend $1500 dollars on two of these and they can't provide a wider variety of options to hang these. IMO Ecotech rushed these to the market without considering the broader picture of the wide demographic of those of use who will be interested in purchasing their product.

Have to tip your hat to Aqua Illuminations for grasping this concept.

Go to Home depot and get some galvanized gas line pipe and fittings. You can clean it up and spray it black. You can also drill it for wire to hang from. A buddy of mine made one like this and it turned out awesome. Be sure to use a rust resistant paint. You could probably even go to Harbor Freight tools and buy a powder coating tool to powder coat it.

Hanging the almighty Radion LED

Hanging the almighty Radion LED

The folks at Ecotech know that those of us who will invest in these jewels have very unique and diversified set-ups for our reef scapes. Most all the generic mounts are tossed a side for need of custom applications.

You can do about anything with $10 and a trip to the local hardware.

I mounted two for $3

Good luck!
