Radion module compatibility

I have two Gen 3 units and thinking about purchasing a third unit, however it's a Gen 2

My question is regarding whether these are compatible and will they communicate with each other... This third light will be placed near the back of the reef used as suplimental...

All generations of the Radion are able to communicate with one another and you will have no issues programming the lights in a group together.
