Radion Powered SPS Nanocube

Tank is looking great, you mentioned earlier in the thread that it was close to t5 coloration, seems that the colors keep improving, how would you compare it now.

In my experience in using this light for a year now, color has been great and just as good as any other light source. I think any light source (LED / MH / T5) can produce great colors assuming there is enough intensity and the spectrum is right. Definitely NO issues with faded colors or any of the other commonly reported "problems" with LED.

Got some nice color contrast there even with the rics do u feed them anything particular or just watch them grow?

Thanks, they just grow!! :)

I've had my Radion for about 6 months now. It's the best thing I've done to my tank. I did end up adding back the stock RSM T5 bulb combos to help reduce some of the shadowing from the Radion.

I had shadowing problems when I had it mounted 5" over the water. Since raising to 9" I haven't noticed any problems with it. T5 + LED sounds like a pretty sweet combo though, I thought about doing the same myself for a while.

I think the shadows were worse for me because of the shape of my scape. Also, those T5's are half actinic so they do add some better color as well.

So far, I'm very happy with the color and growth. :)

I run the Radion at 14k most of the day, with a 2-hr peak of 12k at mid-day, so color has never been a problem for me!! Though, I am also not a big "blue tank" lover, prefer the 12k range.

I must say that's a beauty you have there. Do you feed your clams anything? If so could you explain what you use and how. Thanks those clams are amazing lol

No need to feed the clams, they are fully photosynthetic. I do broadcast feed phyto and oyster feast to the whole tank, but that is more for the corals then the clams benefit.

Thanks for the comments!

Great nano set-up! Any chance you could explain or show how your TLF's are plumbed and hung? Do they share one pump? Thanks for the help.

Both are plumped serially and powered by an Eheim Compact 400 in the skimmer chamber below the intake of the HOB-1 skimmer. I use GFO in the first, and carbon in the second reactor.

Just for kicks, playing around with my EcoTechLive beta and very blue light settings. ISO on my cell is horrific (hence the grainy pics), but interesting to see certain colors pop.

Hey
Great to see someone using the ecotech live software. Is it really wireless or is a cable connected to the radion necessary?

Well, I think myself and a lot of other people were confused about the intent of EcoSmart Live. I thought it was meant to be a wireless interface to the Radion, but it's not. The purpose is simply to move the programming interface from a piece of software that resides on your computer, to a web based version. This makes the software update process transparent (newest version is always there when you log in) and also allows use across multiple computing platforms (PC, Mac, Tablets, Phones, etc).

Short answer is YES, you still have to plug a USB cable into the Radion to program it.
