Radion vs AI

I was in the same boat as you had it down to Radion and AI. I have a tank with mosly sps and lps that are doing great under anloy t5's. After alot of reading I decided to go with MH and T5s until some of these issues get worked out with LED's.

I can't say that I've done much comparing of the led options out here but I've had 2 Radions running for 6 months and I love them. I've had great results w coral growth (softies) and the tank looks great, to me. I'd also say that their customer service is really good, helpful and patient. Good luck in your search.

Thanks for your reply. You know, I have been thinking about this as well but a couple of things that worry me about MH are the heat and also I called Hamilton yesterday to discuss one of their fixtures I am looking at and they said there are 4 or 5 (not 100% clear to me) power cords that have to be plugged in! I really don't want to deal with that many power cords. I think the cords were for the MH, T5, LED, Fan and Ballast. That just seems crazy to me.

So I am very confused at the moment. :headwally:

Patrick, they do that to allow for more controlability of the fixture, dusk/dawn. If you have ever had a fixture with just one cord you would see why they include that feature. It can be a pain but having the ability to control what comes on, and when, is a good thing as opposed to no control other than on/off for everything.
