Radion XR30w or XR30wPro & Mount

Interested in either of the XR30w, but wanted to get clarification on the mount. Do these fixtures share the same mount? And can the mount part still hold if it was submerged near the water? And can you rotate the X part from horizontal to vertical?

Any vids of the mount? Thanks

Wind,

All generations of the XR30w Radion will be compatible with our XR30w RMS. The same can be said about the XR15w and the XR15w RMS. Additionally, the X-bracket can be rotated a full 360 degrees on the horizontal axis. Please see the following link for more information: http://ecotechmarine.com/products/radion-mounting-system

My question is the mounting part. I believe it's metal right and can't be submerged in water right? Thanks.

God I hope not or everyone using these on rimless tanks have the lower portion of the mount bracket submerged. I never really thought about this until you mentioned it since it was vented sorta which made me think they knew it would be partially in the water at the bottom of the mount yet I can not remember if it was metal or hard plastic - it may be plastic on the inside piece.

On mine the metal part runs down the back and stays outside of the tank. The inside piece does touch the water but it's all plastic so it doesn't cause any issue with metal being in the water.

Hi Everyone, I have the RMS on my 75G DeepBlue Rimless. It does submerge in water base on your waterline in the tank. For example the Deepblue tanks cannot be filled as much as other rimless so my RMS does not submerge underwater.

I checked mine today and the inside piece of the mount that does go slightly into the water seems to be plastic and not metal. I did not adjust the water level since it seems to be plastic on the inside piece that submerges into the water slightly. I would think the ecotech guys will weigh in on your original question a little better yet it seems the inside piece on the mount attachment is plastic and not metal at least it seems that is the case. I had to look after the original post here since I really never thought about it when I installed them for the lights and had to go check when I got home knowing metal would have been a bad thing.

:P

The thing is, my tank is older so my water line is way above. I literally have no space, so I am wondering about the piece that touches the tank. Can you guys chime in a bit, and can ECO MARINE chime in also? THANKS!
