Radion XR30W Pro

I just bought two of these for my 154 gal tank. I am wondering if anyone has set up a 24 hour lighting program, with sunrise, sunset and lunar cycle. I am still learning about this lights so any help is welcome. I am running them off of the reef link.

First thing I would do is check out some of the preset programs on your ecosmartlive account if you have already set one up. I believe they have 5 or 6 templates you can choose, and then tweak them slightly to your liking. Also, if you go to the Ecotech Marine thread here on RC there's a thread where people have posted what programs they are using. You can often find a program you download and then apply to your lights.

Oldfashioned reefer here, no controller, just timers, thinking of going from MH to LEDs. Wondering if Radion program runs 24/7, including nights sunrise, sunset (literature indicates yes), and if once set, it just 'does it' or if it requires a link to general controller/timer. Just don't want to commit if it's going to require another big expense.

no controllers or timers. no reeflink for me. I just set the radions using my laptop , USB cable, and ecosmart live, for a 24 hour cycle, including Lunar cycle. Once programmed the lights run on their own. I have five lights all synched wirelessly. Program one and they all follow. Also programmed for traveling sunset and sunrise, and clouds and lightening if you like that. Guests love that sort of thing.

Yes. You can install a downloadable program to a computer which syncs your laptop to EcoTech's cloud, connect the light with USB, set your schedule, spectrum, all that good stuff. Done.

Sounds good. I'm tired of spending 100.00 every 8 months on bulbs. I've never run with a controller, just stubborn, I suppose, but I think I'd like to try this.

The lights put out a lot of par. I would suggest the wide angle lenses. If you're coming from T5s, depending on how new your bulbs are currently start out at around 35-40% and increase the intensity from there. My T5 bulbs were about 5 months old. I started at 45%, started to notice some bleaching on one coral so dropped it to 35%. Now I'm back up to 40%.

I like the Apex because I can see what's going on in my tank from anywhere. It also makes configuration changes much easier. It is expensive though and you don't "need" one.

Def have to be careful with these. I did the same thing at 40% and killed two corals before I realized and dropped it to 30% and turned on the acclimation up to 50% over a month
