Radium and growth ?

Who's using 400W Radiums and what do you think of the growth you're getting from your acros? I have 3 10K Reeflux's now and the growth is great, I'm just not that fond of the color. I'd like something a little more blue I think. I'll be powering them with Coralvue E ballasts.

What do you think of the Radiums?

I run a 400 W 20 K Radium in the middle of my 180. It is over driven with PFO but very dim. But, I run two 400 W 14K Ushios flanking it on either side. No Actinics. I love the set up. I would not like the radiums alone but with the Ushios I get the crisp white and the radium gives me the greens that jump out accross the room. I can post a tank shot if you wish.

Oh I get good growth but I dont think I would with radiums alone. Doesnt matter though cause I couldnt stand the blue tank anyway.

I run 400w Radiums on an HQI ballast and love the color and get great growth. Even though it isn't the huge par numbers like other setups I think for the color (extremely bright white'ish blue - 14k like color) you can't beat it.

Only downside with running them on an HQI ballast is you reduce the life of the bulb.
