Rainbow Monti has issues

I got a frag of rainbow monti about 3''x2'' a few months back. Its been happy for a while. For the past month or so it has not had any polyp extension day or night. Nothing is pecking at it. Having trouble loading pics I'm sure that would help. The area where it is plating out is great but the original piece seems to be getting white in some areas. I even have another frag of this monti on a rack that is great. No new changes to tank and all water tests are right where they need to be. I have a ton of sps and this seems to be the only one having problems. Don't know what to do.

Tagging along on this one. I have a couple encrusting montis that are growing great and colored nicely, but my rainbow barely grows, with crap colors and poor pe.

How much light is it getting? Mine was getting quite a bit of light and was starting to get pale and lose polyp extension. I moved it to the bottom of the tank with not very much light and it is now starting to look a lot better again.

I thought of popping the frag off because I thought the same thing about too much light. It is t5 lit over driven with icecap ballast. It seems the area where it is encrusting out is lower light and seems good. Too bad the frag is glued on super good tried to pop off and may damage surrounding corals by having a rock collapse. I'll just wait till I can take the whole rock out.

I have a couple montis, superman and rainbow being two of them, that will start to lose color and even receed if I don't do regular water changes. I suspect that between my oversized skimmer and use of GFO and GAC (less and less all the time though) that something they need is getting stripped from the water. Might be worth trying a larger water change if you haven't been keeping up with them.

What about ur temp of the tank. I just lost my colony. Because my tank temp hit 85 to 86 for a week or so when my air cond crapped out.
