Hey all. Recently upgraded tanks. New tank is a 90 gallon standard with a fair amount of rock. In the process of re-stocking my SPS and I've got a 6" or so rainbow montipora rock that made the transfer successfully (it's browned out, but still full polyp extension and healthy, no RTN). I upgraded from T5 to 2x250 Radiums.
My big question is where to put this Rainbow Montipora. I'm also coming across a Sunset Montipora and a Superman Montipora in the near future. I love encrusting montis especially these particular color morphs. I'm however very concerned at them growing out of control. I know once they make it onto a rock basically nothing will stop them. I'd be fine with keeping them all on the sandbed level for easier control, but I understand they'll look alot more vibrant up near the bulbs in very high light.
Any advice on where I could possibly place them in the tank to where they won't end up overgrowing a prized Acropora species? Ideas? Here's a FTS
