raising calcium.

I have a red sea calcium test kit. the kit only tests increments of 50ppm. my water is only reading 750ppm and i cant get a raise out of it for anything. I have purple up. Is purple up solution for raising calcium because after adding 2 caps of calcium. (1 cap per 50gal) i have a 75 gal tank. i test the water an hour after adding purple up and there is still no difference in the calcium reading in my tank. any recommendations? whats best for raising calcium

You only want calcium around 400-450, not 750.

I've always used B-ionic calcium and alkalinity supplements, it's pretty cheap when you buy the gallon jugs and I've never had a problem with it

Purple-Up has a lot of calcium in it, but you will need quite a bit more than two cap-fulls. You will probably want a more concentrated supplement.
