Rally

Clown has what the LFS says is small bacterial infection that could be from a lost scale. They sold me this stuff called Rally. They say it's totally reef safe and invert safe etc. and they use it even in their coral tanks.
is there anything else I should know about it?

I'm following the instructions. the clown looks stressed out, he really hates it when I put the rally in. I think he might still be stressed out from his trip to the pet store last night as well.

I would not put ANY medication in my reef tank, regardless of what it says on the bottle (don't believe everything you read on a bottle, either). If a fish is sick and requires treatment, it should be done in the safety of a QT.

yeah, I'm regretting putting the rally in. the snails and Urchin and hermits look very happy, but the two little coral looking things I was kind of excited about sprouting out of no where now seem sick. Is there any damage controle I can do now? I only did two days of the three day treetment. Change some water?
The fish's problem got worse, so I took it back in today and a different guy said it looks like a virus that will make his cells explode and look like fungus. I wish I could remember what he called it.
So I bought some stuff to set up a QT, but when I got home and looked at the other fish, (yellow watchman goby), it looks like he already has it too. I'll go ahead and set up the QT tank anyway, but should I bother putting them in? Seems like it would just stress them out more and make it worse.

10gallon
just the watchman gobie and the O. Clown

the gobie is looking rough, the clown is acting like nothing is wrong.

main tank is 20 gallons, I'm changing 3 gallons tonight once the replacement water is ready. I'm gonna take the old water and put it in the qt to help get it started

keep a close eye on your qt water quality like ammonia and nitrite cause it sound like a uncycled tank, it sounds like a bacterial problem you say treat with marcyon 2 for saltwater, are you going to hypo them for ick?

it looks like bacteria, another opinion would be helpeful, are the fish eating?and these guys are brand new right, ok 2 things i would do is leave them in the 20 gallon tank and do a water change and feed them foods with vitiamns added to there food like zoe, seclon, etc thats if there are eating, #2 put them into you uncycled qt tank and treat with maracyn 2, it will be stressful to keep the ammonia down doing water changes with the meds in the water, and it could be a fungal infection is described as whitish tufts of cottony material

clown is eating, goby is not. goby is not guarding his hole anymore, he's swimming around, even up the the surface; and the clown is doing frantic circles around the surface.
Looking around other treads I'm now thinking mabey it's brook??? The goby's gills do look a little pinkish

brook is a shedding or pelling of the scales, like a sunburn, are the fish new?, i do see in the picture about the gills i would still treat with a antibody, do toy have inverts in your main tank?

yeah, there are snails, live rock, hermit crabs, and an urchin. I've had the clown since sunday and the goby since monday.

man, the goby was doing great until today. Now he looks like hell. he can't stay upright....

okay, he died as I was writing this.

damm, sorry to hear that,1 thing i have learned is qt your new fish for 3-4 weeks you have a 10 gallon qt, dont add any fish to the tank for 3-4 weeks just to make sure ther is not any nasties in your tank, and that the clown dosent come down with any disease, have you checked your water parms latley, when i lose a fish i want to make sure my # are in check, the goby could have been ill when you got him from the start, remember everytime u buy a fish make sure it eats before you buy it

Actually I think the clown was sick when I got him and he got he goby sick. the clown is just a stronger fish. that's just the impression that I get cuz the clown was showing sighns of sickness on wednesday and the goby was doing awsome.

I tried a freshwater dip a little bit before he bit the dust. he was so sick I was able to catch him with my hand really easy. ther are some skin flakes in the dip water. I'm not sure what that means.

oh yeah, the water params seem to be fine.
