Not my best work as my tripod is currently out of action. Just got a 100mm Macro, its been a very long time since I shot macro stuff and without a tripod it sucks big time. High ISO to get a good depth of field but Noise becomes an issue. Enjoi the few pics. Much better ones coming later.

Nice pics!Where did you pick up your lens?
I'm looking for a macro lens for my rebel xti..

I got mine from Samy's, they had a tax free weekend but I would go online and get one from BH photo Video. There are other options, the sigma is also a very nice lens and worth looking into price wise. I used the Canon 100mm for this stuff and its great, expensive though. Sigma will run you a bit less and will work just fine IMHO.

I love the gonipora picture! Sweet! I'm trying to pick up on a camera too... any suggestion on what kind of camera i should pick up? i'm just a beginner. so excuse my lack of knowledge :)

Money no object: Canon 40D with a Canon 100mm Macro

On a budget: Canon Xti with a 105mm Sigma Macro

Both are awesome combos and will do in any situation. The 40d is a better camera but it depends on what you want to do long term.

Since I'm on a budget i think I'll look up on the Canon XTi, i just want cool looking coral pictures :D. Do you know a place that sells it at a cheap price? thanks

photobret, on the "point and shoot" cameras, doesn't Nikon work better at macro than Canon?

I used to have my brother's old Nikon and took some really nice macro shot whereas with the Canon it wasn't as good. We're talking about using the same photographer ( ---> me.... :) so the variable lacking must be the camera?

I have an old Nikon CoolPix 995 that is INCREDIBLE at macros. Unfortunately, the working distance is really short.

My fuji Finepic f30 blows me away everytime! I'll find some pics and show you. I have had pictures published double page spread on that little camera and it beats Canon and Nikon as far as shutter lag. It also does 3200 ISO!
