I would say that the Xenia in question is Pom Pom Xenia. I should know where it is from, but I'm not postive.

You could always get a decent size wrass and he'll eat the shrimp -- :-)
Really? But then I could never have any other shrimp?

I think the big project this weekend will be catching those shrimp. I'm going to try making a trap. I have to research what else those shrimp eat, other than corals

My atlantic cucumber has decided he'd rather clean the glass, and now he is in the overflow. Tonights big project will be getting him back into the main tank. Have to move my makeshift light setup out of the way, shut the return pump off, remove a standpipe, etc. Maybe I'll get lucky and it'll climb back up high on the glass and I can just grab it... They're supposed to stay on the sand! I hope my sand isn't "too clean" to support it.

Here's a picture of last Saturday's scheduled sandstorm...

I tried to get a good picture of the Atlatic Cucumber. This isn't a very good one, but it'll have to do.

LOL no, it just closely resembles a certain infamous Southpark character...

BTW <cue Jaws music> I nearly trapped one of those camelback shrimp just now. I rigged up a long container on the end of a stick but it's a little bulky and difficult to manuever. And the shrimp are very shy so I can just barely light them enough for their eyse to glow (like the devil) but any more and they retreat...

One camelback shrimp CAUGHT

One camelback shrimp CAUGHT

Well, I got one. I had a couple of chunks of silverside in a sports bottle that is attached to a nylon rod. I also put a couple of rock rubble pieces in there for the shrimp to hide in (rather than have it try to scamper out) when I pull the bottle out.

Well, one finally took the bait. Now I'm trying for the other...

Not yet, it seems much more cautious. But.... I KNOW WHERE IT LIVES. So it's just a matter of time.

Then I get to take them back to the LFS they came from and insist that I get a full exchange credit since they told me these are reef safe when many sources say they are not. And like I mentioned, I think they ate my little hitchiker cup corals, and another softie that I have has been completely withdrawn ever since I added them and never was withdrawn during light period previously.

I wonder what I should get with the credit? It should be about $12 I think. I don't want to add any fish until I finish adding liverock to my tank. So I've only been adding cleanup type stuff. Maybe I should find one small inexpensive fish to add, I just don't want to loose a new fish if I add some LR later and get a small cycle... I still need about 100 lbs of LR.

You could get a regular foxface -- LO I belive -- they are very hardy and they eat algae -- if you get a small one it will grow with your tank -- the do get large.

Somethings up with RC... I can't seem to post a reply. I get a search error. Trying again...

I'd rather not have to put more $$ with my credit. So if I just trade the camelbacks for peppermint shrimp or ?? that would be a pretty even trade. Would peppermint or some other shrimp be good?

That other shrimp is totally ignoring my little trap...

He's wised up! :)

My mystery crab is hiding now; I haven't seen him in the past couple days...

Yeah, maybe he talked to his buddy who is in jail - he's in a seperate holding container inside the tank... I think I heard him banging his cup on the side of the container

 He should be fortunate to have a spacious little container; you could've put him in one of those little betta-prisons suctioned to the side of the tank.
