Would the 20" heat sink with 36 leds have enough coverage for a 40 gallon breeder? Im set on doing a dimmable led and im set on 36 or 48 leds just need a little help on the specifics. thanks all!

im not sure yet i would have it attached to the ceiling so i could move it up or down

i want to be able to keep anything really i want a mixed reef with a clam or two.
Well, here is a pic for reference. This is my 30 breeder so its got the same dims. Those are the Rapid 9"x4 1/4" heatsink you see there. Coverage is fine and I have a third to mount in the middle.
I think that your 20" one might leave some darker places at the ends of the tank but it also depends on your optics. I have 40 degree optics about 3' off the water.

that looks great! 12 on each heat sink? do you know par readings. what do you plan on keeping in there?
With these two modules only I am successfully keeping milipora, montipora, tort, and some sps that I do not have an ID for. I'll need to dim the lights as I saw that the part of the monti in the middle of the fixtures focus was a paler green while the part toward tha back of the tank had colored up for darkly.
I don't have par readings, also the tank is only 12" dead. Your will only be a few inches deeper though. 40 Breeder is such a great tank size.

awesome! im almost 100% set on the 36 leds just need to figure out how to hang them best. Im excited for my 40 ive seen so many awesome 40s on here, just waiting till this summer when i get a new place. just now starting to collect all the thing i need for it.
