Use the 80* optics option and mount them higher. I would also suggest using window screen layered to shield the light and remove a layer per week over the course of a month.

So do you think 2 will duffice? I planned on making sleek lids, each lid with 1 more layer of window screen than the last, so I lid would have say, 4 peices, the other lid with have 3, ect. so all i do each day/week is just take the lid off, and put the other lid with 1 less layer on, so it looks neater since its just not window screen thrown over the tank Lol

If you are looking to spotlight certain areas then two with 80* optics would be good. Normally I would suggest 3. The only issue is that they are currently not available on RapidLED.

These are available with either red LEDs or UV LEDs. It looks like only 60* optics. I bet they would look good, however they will be more powerful than the Rapids. You would need to mount them quite high as to not burn your softies.
