Rapid Tissue Narcosis (RTN)

I am looking for any advice I can get. My tank has started to RTN. I have had this happen in the past but this time it is different. In the past my alkalinity way very low <2dkh. This time all my parameters look good.

Alk 11 dkh
Cal 420 ppm
Salinity 1.021
Ammonia 0
Nitrates 0
Nitrites 0
Phosphates .07
ORP 390
pH runs from 7.8 to 8.1

I have been doing 30 gallon water changes every other week. Tank is total water volume of 300 gallons.
I run an Ozone reactor and all the water from it runs into a carbon reactor then the tank.

Any one have any ideas?

dkh is a little high and your salinity is low, other than that, all looks good! did you have a big alk spike? or major temp swing? Good luck and keep us posted!

change your salinity to 1.025 or 1.026. closer to natural seawater. you run gfo? I have had problems with RTN when i put to much in to fast. just a thought. Alk is alittle high but i have seen people running at it. Maybe try to drop it to 8 or 9.

I am tiling to start raising the salinity today. I have not been running GFO. I added some last night to start reducing the phosphates.

Take it slow with the GFO, lowering po4 too quickley will cause problems. I would start out with half the recommended dosage.

+1 on raising your Sg to 1.025/6

Update:
Well, I have raised my salinity to 1.024.
So far most corals RTN have stopped. A few are still progressing but very slow. I do believe the low salinity is what caused this to start. I expect the rest of the corals RTN to stop soon. My take from this is that corals will do fine with salinity of 1.022 but not below that. Another interesting thing that has happened is with raising my salinity my PH has raised also. Before my PH range was 7.8 at night to 8.0 during the day and now it is ranging from 7.9 at night to 8.1 during the day. Now I have to watch my Alk closely since PH raise of .1 will cause ALK to raise .05 mql.

+1 to salinity also I would slowly low alk to 9dkh. 11dkh could be high in some systems. And yeah RTN is a matter of hours.. should be STN which is sometimes could be reversed.
