Rapide's reef

Rapide

So, I've got some requests to tell something about my "new" tank...
Long story short, I have a 660 gallon system here in Finland. The DT is 10'10" long, and there is a "basement sump room" in the garage below the main tank.
Basic equipment at the moment... 177gal sump. Water is lifted back up with a Deltec E-Flow 16. There is a ATB Cone skimmer, and it will be upgraded to a bigger model in the future.
In the main tank there are 4 Tunze 6105 streams with a multicontroller, and 2 Tunze Nano streams. I have 4 custom made 144w LED-panels 50/50 10000K/royal blue with few red, cyan and actinic LEDs for color. Also there will be added a 72w royal blue/actinic LED-strip for more color, and it will also be a moonlight fixture. The LEDs are moving away, and I have 3 8x39w T5 lights waiting to be placed. The LEDs had some damage during the building of our house... :worried:

In the basement there is also a heavy duty RO/DI unit with a Tunze 8555 RO Water controller and a Deltec Aquastat 1001 with a Tunze pump to keep the water level right. Dosing is done by a Grotech Tech III using the Balling-method, and I will add some 3 more channels to it.

There is a canister filter full of zeolite, a reactor with phosphate remover, a lot of activated carbon and some Seachem Purigen to keep the nitrate levels down. I haven't had the time to build a nitrate filtration unit yet, nor have I bio pellets yet... We just moved in a week ago, but the tank has been here since may :hmm5:

"Some pictures?" I hear you say... I don't have lots of them, and the whole system is still under construction so only pics from inside the tank for now...
Let's see if I can use this thingy...

One more pic... BTW; the sump just came in in that picture, so it's not like that anymore :spin3:

The Sohal was measured yesterday, and it was just barely 12".
That should give some perspective on the sizes of the other fishes...

Latest additions are a 4" Calloplesiops altivelis, one more Valenciennea puellaris, 2 Stichodactyla tapetums and a green BTA with purple tips, very nice specimen...

Some pictures, if anyone is interested...

Your full tank shot (FTS) seems to have only spot lighting. Is this correct, or do the spots move around?

Wow! Sweet tank Rapide. :) Love the rockwork and the Sohal is looking great!

Dave, that is 1/3 of the tank in that picture. It's the right side end. The picture is taken right after the rock work has been set up, and there are 60° optics in all the LED's still in that pic. Hence the "spot light effect". And it's super difficult to shoot the tank when it's lit up with LED's, and I only have the camera in my iPhone :worried:

The aqua scape is built to mimic the shores in Brazil. I fell in love with the pillar rocks when I visited there. Since then I wanted to create something like that for myself :o

edit: It's also almost impossible to take a FTS... The tank is 10'10" (330cm) long, and in a hall...

10'10" ??? wow.... you must spend more time in the hall than in your lounge, it's beautiful. really like the rockwork.

Hahaha!!
The tank is actually visible from the dining area, living room, 2 downstairs bedrooms and toilet!
I'll take a FTS when the whole project is ready...

These two fellas just moved in!
