My RM limeade raspberry nasuta acro is definatley coloring up nicely but my polyps are really light...they didn't keep that dark purple color they had when I first got it. That is a sweet coral as it grows out.

250G...there are a lot of pink millis but I think there are fewer pink acros. I saw a sweet pink jaquelinea on LA today and there pink panther acro is super sweet. I may have to pull the trigger on one of those frags the next time I see it come up. I have seen it only twice and passed on it...but lingered a long time on the picture.

Hey Rev Edwin, jump on some of these frags when they come up on Reefer Madness or Live Aquaria...you got to just jump in and spend some dough :D. I also see some really nice frags often offered up in the For Sale forum here on Reef Central.

True...ok lets see the pink acros then :D

As you can tell I did not see myself up for this post by any means - I was initially agains the pink coral idea. You have likely seen this one before...but it may very well just be pink (but I tell you it is red in some tanks!).

I was hoping that one would come up 250g... any idea what species that pink/red one is?

here's one I picked up as a "Paletta Blue" ;) ;) and an ATL blue vermi to the right... and a couple of little frags some of you may recognize :D

Okay everyone. Enough is enough. ;-) You have to share where you got some of your corals? Please??? Help some reefers out! You can't take all the good stuff. I cannot believe the colors on some of these corals. They are just drop dead. PUG, that blue colony right by the monti's is so beautiful. Where did you pick it up? Hands down to all of you.
How many of these are wild, VS captive? I am going to try and get as many Aqua Cultured Acro's as possible. Beautiful everyone.

I was waitin for u to chime in PUG,sweet stuff.

It is black acrylic, poorly laminated to the back panel of my tank (it also makes up the teeth on my overflow). I keep it clean all time, and never let the coraline build up. I left quite a bit of space at the back of my tank for this.

My knowledge of photoshop is limited to auto colour, auto contrast. At the same time now that I set my white balance using an 18% gray card these two features do not even really change the picture. Finally...

Very nice! How do you get the black background? Is it just that dark or do you touch it up with something?

No idea of the actual species - around these parts we call it a stag. Not 100% though based on the growth...I really don't know as ID's are not my thing.

I am confident this one below is a stag however.

AND FYI - becuause of this thread I think I am now officially out of photos...for now :)

I'm sure you have something waiting in the wings to blow our feeble minds with, lol. Your pictures are awesome nonetheless and we are indebted to you for sharing them with us.

Now I'm like everyone else, where did you guys find these things, the can't all be coming from LA, ATL, or RM, so spill the beans guys.

you buy/trade frags from others who've shown success in keeping color/growth, etc in the coral you are interested in

and/or

you get wild stuff in... cross your fingers... and hope it becomes something nice in captivity

Agreed...Like I said many reefers put frags up for sale. I also contact reefers from time to time through Private Mesaaging here on Reef Central to see if they are interested in trading or selling certain pieces that have caught my eye...the "I can't live without that coral" moment happens quite often here on RC for me, lol. I occassionally try a wild acro piece but my luck is pretty dismal. I really like to get pieces that someone else has had good luck with and get a frag. 98% of the pieces in my tank started as frags from other reefers or frags from various vendors.
