rare and/or exotic SPS corals

PS, I have a frag of the second pic, first set.

Can you post it?

I find it super shady on RR's part that they won't post photos of the frags or explain how big they are. They also won't show any other photos of the coral. If I had a medium to nice dslr with a resale permit I could post beautiful amazing looking acros weekly! Chop them up and resell them, maybe ill hold onto them for a month or more after I take my beautiful single image. BUT after maybe a year or less people would be sick of paying my high prices and I would be flamed accordingly. These are NOT tank proven corals; why people think they should pay more for a wild coral is beyond me.

How many 1st generation wild corals do you have Logzor? Any pics of them?

They should come out and post online how long each coral has been in captivity. That way the question is dealt with and done. Why PM you this information but not put it in the thread. It only makes sense to me.

Also Logzor....do you know if they are fragged before or after crossing the border? Also have you seen any new pictures? I know that picture of the purple rain is from May......which was the first time I heard of this coral.

I'm not being a pessimist as hope these frags are all people are hoping for.....but just trying to get to the facts.

I sent them a PM and specifically asked about the three corals I was buying.

They did disclose in the thread that these acros were brought in brown then colored up in their system, very clearly pointing out that they are not selling fresh-off-the-boat corals.

As far as the fragging goes, it all depends on how the permits work.

Statement from RR:

The permits should come in next week as i've anticipated then ship out a week after. I will make an announce ment in R2R just for this when its ready.

We haven;t fragged anything yet as we really dont know what the permits are like. If they approved of the cultured CITES then we will drive the fragsover to RandyO and have it rest for couple days then ship out.

If by chance it is a regular or standard CITES, we will then drive the colonies over to RandyO then frag them up after a few days then let them heal a week or two then ship out.

What is a 1st generation wild coral?

The frag size has been disclosed. They have actually been quiet transparent.

I would highly recommend going to their original thread and investigating this yourself.

I agree with everything logzor said. I've been talking to RR every since they some in the states got the red dragon. They just start get there perments togather. To ship to the states. Which I believe they are goig to be shipping the 1st batch of sps this week or next. I also am gettin some from them can't wait.
All there acro they keep for a year before shipping or fraging. Wait till you see there disply tank. I think its nicer then wwc disply. They are also a supplier to the lfs in Canada.
Will post pic of my pack when it comes in.

Reef Raft is an amazing store and they are great at importing rare beauties like the ones above but some truth here is in order. They don't keep all acros for over a year before they frag them or sell them...

Jay or Jensen (the two owners/brothers) has a display tank at home (it's never really been showcased on the web and I haven't personally seen it, although I'm sure it would be great)....but there is no display at the store. They keep most of the rarest and nicest corals (that they frag) in frag tank style tanks at the back of the store.

They are a coral wholesaler....but they also are a walk in store for any customer.

Pretty certain i picked up a wild collected branch of this acro about 6 weeks back, mine was bleached white and rescued from the LR bin but the bits i saved are coloring up and look like the same acro to me. Tell RR i paid about $4- for my bit so they can price it similar for you guys..............:hmm2:

Reefraft really needs to stop altering pictures to sell more frags at much higher prices. I have a huge piece of an Sps that looks almost the same.
I am done with this photoshop crap and companies trying to take advantage of us reefers.

a lot of these are really nice SPS. However, these "rare" sps aren't really that rare to be honest especially the ones that are being marked up in prices.

omg that coral looks amazing I can grow sps but some times the color is ok, that red table amazing. Great skills keep up the excelent work
