Rare blasto photos

What would the rarest color form of these corals.

Lets see some photos.

the rarest? there arent really any rare blasto morphs on the market. i really just divide them into to groups. the commons, and the nicer more flashy morphs. but if there were a super rare morph it would have to be somthing we havent seen yet imo.

Well i know this color morph is not rare but i don't see these little wellsi that often they don't get bigger than a dime most of my merleti are bigger than these.

Sunrise Blastos, never seen them before. I got them from sharkysreef and they said that they have never seen this color morph before. There are rare corals. Every time someone asks if something is rare or wants to know where they can get rare corals they kind of get flamed. You don't see sunset montiporas, sherbert echinos, armageddon zoos, or PPE's at every other LFS. So yes there are rare corals and that's why they go for so much money.

if they're that small, how can you differentiate them from the merletti? not flaming, i am just curious because i don't know any differences between the 2 kinds but the size of the individual heads.

Merletti are not encrusting like this they protrude with stalks. If you look in the second pic there are merletti on the right side.

oh i see now. thanks for telling me. i have both merletti & wellsi but can tell the difference because the wellsi heads are much larger than the merletti heads, even though the actual colony of merletti is larger than the colony of wellsi.

ive seen sunrise blastos for sale several times. not saying that takes anything aways from them, because they deffinently fall under the "flashy" category. and the ones fish2223 posted are deffinently cool blasto morphs. i know where you saw those pics at and the only thing i dissaprove of is the use of HEAVY actinics to make the colors flourece alot more then they would in most tanks. the ppe merletti are interesting but arent all that uncommon.
man im sounding like mr negative lol.
id really like to see some TRUE royal blue blastos. ive got some "blue" one but they appear 90% sky blue with alittle light purple thrown in. but to see a blasto that is solid smurf blue "without actinics" would be really cool. and a pretty penny i might add.

Kind of off thread but are these merleti ot wellsi. I thought they are merletis but they are encrusting and not stemming.

Hey vetter, those should be merletti.
When they are smaller colonies they kind of have that encrusting appearance to them. I think it also depends on the flow they are in.
