Does anyone have any like these or ever seen these?

The first one is just a basic Discosoma. It looks like a faded red one. I have one that looks quite similar. Pretty common

The second one looks more like Majanos Anemones. These are often considered pest anemones. Do you have better shots of it with the mouth, foot, vesicles, etc?

The discoma is orange, I have had it for almost a year and it has never split or been propagated. I have a ton of reds and pinks

They are definately mushrooms in the second pic, I have a few different colors of them. Seen them at a LFS and bought every one they had because I have never seen them before.

Wow, the second series of pics of the 2nd shroom make it look like some kind of giant zoanthid/paly LOL...

That's a pretty crazy shroom. I've never seen anything like it.

So what makes them pest?

They look nice, spread fast and sting other coral? Sounds like most corals we keep anyways.

They are definately Majanos.

Most corals can sting but they dont move like this rock anemone.
They spread fast and can out grow your corals and will be an ugly sight if they are all around your tank like the Atapsia!.

I also have them in my tank but have removed most of it and is keeping track on the remainder

yeah the majanos suck, they killed part of my fox coral and until taken care of irritated a portion of my open brain. get rid of them

They are indeed majanos or some close relative- but they look nice ;) A coral/anemone is only unwanted if you dont like it- I know many people consider dandy lions to be weeds, and still others who deliberately plant them.

That being said, they reproduce like Mad. They dont always do it right away, they can sometimes sit and look all safe for months or years, but rest assured, at some point the population will explode All Over your tank and start to sting the crap out of your other coral...

Dollarz.. If you want to keep the majanos in your tank that is your decision... but you have been warned, Those little things will spread all over your tank and you will wish you had taken care of the problem sooner....

can you take a pic of the pink mushroom ?

Yes, those in the 2nd pic are majanos. The exact looking color morph is in the LRS acro tank and are in great numbers on the glass and when they appear on the shelves that hold the acros they are removed. I have asked about them and they are not sold and if they are it is with the greatest hesitance by the owner.

i wouldn't even put them in the refugium. they can and will spread to the display.

As nice as they look, they are definitely pests and given proper reef conditions they will spread and infest your entire tank.
