Qwiv, I think you're underestimating the willingness of these reefers to have something really good happen here. It's much of what our club is based on.
I know the willingness of THIS club. Unfortunatly, other clubs/people are not the same. I am questioning more from a "copy this idea elsewhere' possition. BAR folks and even regular locals tend to bend over backwards for eachother, especially the more active members. Other places, this is not the case. I also work with people that will stab you in the back while shaking your hand, so I am always the devil's advocate. Sorry, we all have character flaws.
Wish I could have jumped in on this. Everytime I checked the thread, I didn't have the current requests.
I think if you repeat this, the person who starts the swap should post what they have available. Not saying you in particular would do this cwolfus, as the rest of the folks here would kill you, but what if you tell the last person you only have zoos and xenia for example. (We know that isn't true) The last person in the chain would have to take your xenia or risk breaking the entire chain. That is a lot of pressure. The person who started the swap would end up with (2) rare corals in exchange for xenia.

The second and third person to join the swap would bring (3) rares and walk home with (2) rares and xenia.

You can see how it is possible to abuse the situation. It would also make it more fun. You could have some rare coral I really want, and I can try my best to be the last person to sign-up on purpose. Some people like the gamble.
Goodluck with the swap everyone.
P.S. Sparkss, I forgot to give you the Zoo frag the other day. Totally spaced. Remembered when I fraged a fiece this weekend. I'll save you one. Will give it to you next time I see you. Let me know when your local again.
