That is my frogspawn :) Here is a picture of yours, you can see one head starting to come back on the bottom left and I highlighted some of the tiny heads that are starting to grow in red boxes.

can i ask a favor of you

is it possible you would be willing to take a drive to washington pa to see my tank setup
i dont know if i have the sump set up right
and seeing as you have much more experience in sumps than me
maybee you could show me what if anything i am doing wrong
for one the water level is right up to the lip of the tank even when i take some out
and it sounds like the u tube sucks in air every now and then
i dont know why it does this but it slows down and then speeds up again
(i have 2 u tubes for more flow)

let me know ok?

Hey,

I am not sure when I would have a chance, I am busy all this weekend and with next week being the holiday I have family in town.

So you are saying that the water level in your sump is at the top of the trim? I assume the water level in your tank is also at the trim?

I would drain half of that water out of your sump, if your sump is that high you will have a flood if your power goes out.

You may need to lower the overflow box in your tank a little bit to lower the tank water level.

I have never used a overflow box/u-tube type setup. I have only used drilled tanks. You may want to post the specific question here and see if anyone has any experience with these.
